Holland has a high population density and a shortage of affordable housing. Meet Esther, who resides in a tiny home amidst lush green fields. She believes that alternative housing can enhance life and the future of the housing market, inspiring those stuck in the system to pursue their dreams. This is her story.

There is a well-known Dutch song that emphasises the aspiration of having a home: "Your own home, a place in the sun. And always someone nearby who can love you." However, in today's densely populated Netherlands, owning a home more and more seems like nothing but a dream.

In this mini-documentary, made by filmmakers Pieter Klein and Frank Jan de Kat, we discover how Esther found a solution for herself through her tiny home. The video is part of the Dutch filmmakers' series "A Better World Nearby," which highlights local initiatives that make the world a little more beautiful. Esther has a message for the world: people who choose to live differently should be supported and encouraged, not hindered!
